Preparation for CTs without intravenous contrast: none.
Pregnancy is a contraindication.

Preparation for CTs with intravenous contrast (Iodine): Drink 4-5 glasses of water approximately 4 hours before the study and be fasting after that until your study.  You must have recent blood tests (2 months old at most) for BUN and Creatinine levels.  Pregnancy is a contraindication.
*If you are allergic to Iodine an alternate protocol is available.

Preparation for Abdominal CTs with or without contrast: Pick up a bottle of Barium from our office. Drink an entire bottle before going to sleep the night before your study.  Upon arriving at the clinic, you will be given another bottle to drink.  If your CT is with intravenous contrast, follow the above preparations in addition to these.
